DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
Many Afghans were forced to migrate as refugees to Pakistan during which children were most effected by the treacherous journey. ‘Bacha Bazi’ the practice of abusing children for entertainment purposes became widespread in the region yet remained unmentionable. Abdullah Khan’s origin as a Pakistani with forefathers who came from Afghanistan influenced the setting of the story. The turning of a blind eye and the silenced voices around the subject became the reason to bring forth this narrative. This film is an act of rebellion against a practice that brings darkness to an otherwise beautiful culture.
