DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
Being an immigrant in Canada, most of my stories revolve around immigrants, their struggle, and their dilemma in their newly found world. A world that promised a better future than their native country. It’s the contrast between their dreams and reality gives birth to compelling stories. In 2020, I watched an immigrant (Punjabi) charged and convicted in a drug case. When I dug deep I found he was an international student from India. I was an international student from India back in 2007. The story not only intrigued me but also felt so relatable that I was restless until I wasn’t done telling it to a broader audience.
