SYNOPSIS

Roshni, a Personal Support Worker, has built a new life in Canada after fleeing as a refugee from Sri Lanka. Struggling to find balance between work, home, and her current boyfriend, Roshni’s world takes an unexpected turn when she encounters a terminally ill man who played a significant role in the government’s oppressive actions against the Tamil population back home. This dying man, who held a position of authority and directly orchestrated the violent acts that devastated Roshni’s village, including the loss of her dear and near ones, is now settled in a remote city in Ontario. With his mental state deteriorating, he has been placed in care, and his family has been notified. As the man’s family arrives, Roshni engages in a conversation with his daughter and wife..Faced with conflicting emotions, Roshni is left contemplating an opportunity for revenge or offering compassionate care during his final days. Finally, Roshni decides to lend him her ear, willing to hear what he has to say. However, before she can do so, the man’s family intervenes and transfers him to a hospice closer to their home, effectively cutting off any chance of further interaction.
