DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
The inspiration for Thursday Special emerged from my profound desire to explore the human experience of coping with grief and embracing change. Over the course of 5 years, me and my team poured our hearts into bringing this story to life, fuelled by the belief that this narrative would resonate with audiences worldwide. Thursday Special is a heartfelt portrayal of Ram and Shakuntala, a couple whose lives revolve around their shared passion for food. Through their weekly tradition, we delve into their world and witness the intricate layers of their relationship. However, an unexpected event challenges their routine, forcing them to confront their suppressed emotions and contemplate their future. Set against the backdrop of a small town in India, the film captures the universal themes of love, loss, and resilience.
