BRIEF
Inviting all filmmakers to showcase their films with a connection to South Asian culture and identity. A select number of foreign films are considered under Beyond South Asia segment.
Language and genre is not a criteria.
IFFSA Toronto is Academy Qualifying! i.e. Eligible for Canadian Screen Awards by Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television.
DEADLINES
Regular Deadline: June 30, 2024
Late Deadline: July 31, 2024
CATEGORIES
FEATURE FILM: Films over 60 minutes long
FEATURETTE FILM: Films 15 to 30 minutes long
SHORT FILM: Films up to 15 minutes long
DOCUMENTARY FILM: Films of feature, featurette, or short length
SOCIAL IMPACT FILM: Films of feature, featurette, or short length on mental health and environment
MUSIC FILM: Films up to 5 minutes long
PREMIERE STATUS
Film MUST be at least a Canadian premiere. If your film has screened at any other film festival in Canada, been released on DVD, broadcasted on television or the internet, or had a ticketed theatrical exhibition anywhere in Canada, it is not eligible. Send a note to the festival to seek clarification or request waiver under exceptional circumstances.
