SYNOPSIS
From Up Here is a short-form scripted series set in a slightly worn, full-of-character neighborhood in downtown Toronto. A small balcony beside the entrance of an apartment building becomes a recurring vantage point from which a group of roommates watches the world around them. What they see is only a fragment: fleeting encounters, strange routines, intimate moments and lives they can never fully know.
Each episode is a self-contained vignette built around an observed moment. The roommates may speculate, laugh, misunderstand or simply watch. At times, they interact with the people and situations unfolding around them, becoming part of the story they initially observed. The audience, however, is sometimes given a little more and sometimes left with the same uncertainty. Across the season, the series explores how readily we turn glimpses into stories, and how much of another person’s life remains invisible.
