SYNOPSIS
Queen of Heart is the story of TIA SANYAL (late 30s), who’s stuck in a dead marriage and banished to the basement, by her game-addicted, man-child husband, RISHI SANYAL (40s). She works at the family-owned liquor store but has no claims to the income. She is a prisoner in the Sanyal household, due to her temporary visa status. She cannot go back to India, as her old mother is now trying to marry her younger sister. Finally, her bohemian, yoga-buddy, and ad-filmmaker, AURORA (40s), convinces her to appear in a sari ad, and give a tight backhand to the Sanyal family’s precarious social image. With that modeling gig, Tia earns 2K and is able to buy herself a bed.
