SYNOPSIS
In creating “Broken Wings,” my intention was to delve into the profound complexities of the human psyche, specifically focusing on the journey of a young girl grappling with Dissociative Identity Disorder. This film aims to illuminate the raw emotions of pain, love, and humanity that interweave with the stark reality of mental illness. In an industry where psychological films have often fallen victim to sensationalism, veering towards comedic or exaggeratedly violent portrayals, “Broken Wings” seeks to break away from these stereotypes. Rather than exploiting the disorder for shock value, the film endeavors to provide a compassionate and authentic representation. As a director, my hope is that this film serves as a reminder that true strength lies in understanding, compassion, and the willingness to embrace the full spectrum of human experiences.
