DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
In the heart of enchanting Bangladesh, a land that resonates with vibrant colours and embraces cultural diversity, we are confronted with a haunting reality: 38 million child brides. This staggering number embodies the untold stories of countless young girls who are unjustly robbed of their childhood, dreams, and precious right to shape their destinies. The film captures the tangled emotions that swirl within an eighty-year-old grandmother, married off at the tender age of thirteen. It unveils the bittersweet nostalgia of lost childhood and the longing for connection and expression, providing a glimpse into the unspoken desires of a generation of women silenced by convention. It portrays a desire to break free and find solace in capturing moments through the lens of a camera. At its core, this is a story of the relationship between two generations, exploring the tension that exists between deeply rooted traditions and the undeniable need for individuality, that artfully captures the profound dichotomy between the stifling confines of a homebound culture and the indomitable spirit that yearns for the boundless horizons of freedom.
